We're Susanna and Stuart, an English couple who traded London life for the sun-drenched valleys of Liguria and never looked back.

 

Susanna is an illustrator, textile artist and maker with a deep passion for creativity and place. Her warm and approachable style makes everyone feel at home, whatever their experience level. Stuart has spent over 30 years as a specialist coffee technician, which means Italy was never really a choice, it was destiny.

We discovered this hidden corner of the Ligurian mountains, just above the Italian Riviera, and fell completely in love: the stillness of the valley, the warmth of the locals, the food, the history, the light. So we stayed.

The Mountain Retreat is our home, and we love nothing more than sharing it with people who are looking for something a little different, authentic, unhurried and genuinely off the beaten track.
